INAUGURATION OF SCRIPTURE UNION GHANA ADULT FELLOWSHIP (SUGAF-ACCRA)
Scripture Union Ghana Adult Fellowship (SUGAF) was initiated to enable members to meet periodically to have fellowship, study God’s Word, and break bread together, as recorded in Acts 2:42. The inaugural ceremony brought together 110 old and Young SU People from about 5 Regions in Ghana who gathered at the Terrace of the SU Tower in Accra.
The Service was held on 12th February 2023 with Rev. Dr. Gottfried Osei-Mensah (First Secretary of SU Ghana National Council) as the Guest Speaker. He spoke on the theme “Rest for the weary” from Matthew 11:25-30. He encouraged brethren to lay all their burdens on Christ and take up His yoke because His yoke is light. He emphasized that Christ’s call on us is a ROYAL call because of His credibility and as king of kings.
The ceremony was spiced by the presence of a representative of the Scripture Union Old Guards Fellowship in Kumasi (OGF). Mr. Samuel Nketiah, the immediate past Chairman of the (OGF) in Kumasi gave an explicit presentation to help determine the way forward for SUGAF–Accra. In addition to the joy of Christian fellowship and the rekindling of Christian values among brethren, the following outcomes were apparent.
- SUGAF will meet quarterly to share fellowship, encourage one another in the faith and pray for the Nation, the Church, and SU ministry.
- Being our brothers and sisters’ keepers through accountability partnership
- Educate members on health issues and the steps to healthy living.
- Members to serve as resource persons for the scripture union’s ministry among children, the youth, and families.
- Support specific Ministry Projects with funds for maximum impact.
